Phone Number History Look-Up

What is the Phone Number History Look-Up tool?

The Phone Number History Look-Up tool generates a comprehensive report of all messages sent from your Text-Em-All account to any specific phone number. This tool is essential for compliance audits, troubleshooting delivery issues, or maintaining detailed communication records. The information exports directly to a CSV file for easy analysis and record-keeping.

How do I generate a phone number history report?

Follow these steps to create a detailed communication history for any phone number:

  1. Click on the Reports section, located under your name in the upper right corner of your account dashboard.
  2. Select the report called Phone Number History from the available reports list.
  3. Enter the phone number you want to search in the required input field.
  4. Click the Get Number History button to generate the report.

Once you click the Get Number History button, the system automatically exports all communication data for that phone number into a CSV spreadsheet file that downloads to your computer.

When would I need this tool?

The Phone Number History Look-Up tool is particularly useful for:

  • Investigating delivery issues or message failures for specific recipients
  • Providing communication records for compliance audits or legal requests
  • Tracking the complete history of interactions with important contacts
  • Analyzing response patterns for specific phone numbers across multiple campaigns
  • Troubleshooting opt-out or delivery problems with individual recipients

What information does the report include?

The exported CSV file contains detailed information about every message sent to the searched phone number:

  • Phone Number: The contacted number (useful when running multiple searches)
  • Call Result: The delivery status or outcome of each message sent to the number
  • Call Broadcast ID: The unique identification number for each broadcast sent to the recipient
  • Broadcast Name: The campaign name you assigned when creating the broadcast
  • Message Content: Displays the text content for SMS broadcasts or the audio ID for voice calls
  • Number of Attempts: How many delivery attempts were made for each message
  • Last Call Date: Date and time of the most recent message delivery attempt
  • Broadcast Type: Identifies whether the communication was a voice call or text message

Understanding the data

Each row in the CSV represents one broadcast sent to the phone number. If you sent multiple messages to the same number across different campaigns, each will appear as a separate entry. For messages that required multiple delivery attempts, the "Last Call Date" shows the timestamp of the final attempt.

Alternative export options

If you need to export contact information rather than message history, you can export contact lists directly through the Contacts section of your account. This provides different data focused on contact details rather than communication history.

Note: The Phone Number History Look-Up focuses specifically on messages sent TO a number. For broader reporting needs, explore other report types available in your Reports section, such as broadcast results or activity summaries.
