Live Transfer Broadcasts
Live Transfer Broadcasts allow recipients of voice broadcasts to press 0 during the call to be immediately connected to your office or call center. This feature transforms one-way announcements into interactive communications that can route interested callers directly to live representatives for immediate assistance.
How do I set up a transfer number?
Transfer numbers are configured in your voice settings and define where calls will be routed when recipients press 0. You can set up multiple transfer numbers and control capacity limits to prevent overwhelming your phone system.
- Navigate to your Settings > Voice Settings page
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the green Add Transfer Number button
- Enter a descriptive name for the transfer line (only visible to you for organization)
- Add the transfer phone number where calls will be routed
- Set the number of simultaneous transfer lines available to prevent capacity overload
- Click Add to save your transfer number configuration
How do I create a broadcast with transfer capability?
Transfer broadcasts require special configuration during the broadcast creation process. You will need to enable the transfer option and provide specific messaging for both live answers and voicemail scenarios.
- Navigate to the Create Broadcast page
- On step 1, check the checkbox next to Transfer to enable the feature
- Continue through the standard broadcast setup process
- On step 3, you will see options to add transfer-specific audio messages:
- Live Answer Message: Plays when recipients answer the phone live. Must instruct contacts to press 0 for transfer to your company
- Voicemail Message: Plays when the call goes to voicemail. Should provide general information since recipients cannot press 0 from voicemail
What does transfer broadcast pricing cost?
Transfer broadcasts are only available on the Credits Plan and use a two-tier pricing structure based on the initial broadcast delivery and actual transfer connections.
Initial broadcast costs
- Standard voice broadcast pricing applies: 1 credit per 30-second segment up to 2 minutes maximum per recipient
- All recipients are charged at broadcast rates regardless of whether they press 0
Transfer connection costs
- Additional charges apply only when recipients actually press 0 and connect
- Transfer time is billed at 1 credit per minute of connection time
- Connection time starts when the transfer completes, not when 0 is pressed
What are the limitations of transfer broadcasts?
Transfer broadcasts have specific technical limitations that affect how you can use the feature and what recipients can expect during the call experience.
- Fixed transfer key: Recipients must press 0 to transfer, this cannot be customized to other numbers
- Capacity limits: The system respects your configured transfer line limits to prevent overwhelming your phone system
- Credits Plan only: Transfer capability is exclusively available on pay-per-use Credits Plans, not Monthly subscriptions
- Voicemail limitations: Recipients who reach voicemail cannot use the transfer feature since they cannot press keys
