Types of Messages Auto Opted-Out
Here are a few examples of messages our auto opt-out system looks for:
- "Please remove me from your list."
- "This is the wrong number."
- "Please do not text this number."
- "How do I opt out?"
We will NOT auto opt-out messages in the following criteria:
- The message contains only numbers
- The number replied with "unstop" within the last 6 months
- The message length is greater than 200 characters
Where to See Auto Opt-Out Messages
You are able to view all of the messages that have triggered an auto opt-out. To view auto opt-outs:
- Navigate to the Conversations page
- Click on the Auto Opt-Out folder on the left side of the page.
Undo Auto Opt-Outs
The auto opt-out system may make incorrect guesses about when a contact does and does not want to be opted out. If you find that a message was auto opted-out by mistake you may resolve this by:
- Navigate to the Conversations page.
- Click on the Auto Opt-Out folder on the left side of the page.
- Click the three-dot menu on the conversation you would like to opt-in.
- Select Opt back in from the menu.
- Click Opt in on the dialog that appears.
Note: It is important to only do this if you are 100% sure the contact would still like to receive a message from you. If there is any doubt it is better to leave them opted out.
Other Ways to Opt-Out
There are other ways a contact may be opted-out of messages.
- Our system will continue opting out any number that responds to your text message with a standard opt-out term: STOP, END, CANCEL, or UNSUBSCRIBE.
- The Text-Em-All account holder can also opt-out phone numbers directly within the account. Learn more about these options on How Contacts Can Opt Out of Messages.
