Managing Your Text Number

Your text number is the number people see when you text them. You can look it up yourself in the app. Changing the area code, text-enabling a number you already own, or adding more numbers are all support requests. How fast we can do them depends on whether you've finished carrier registration.

Where do I find my text number?

Your text number appears in the Inbox and under Text settings. Open either one and it's there. If your account has more than one number, you'll see the ones you've been given access to. A teammate might see a different set.

  1. Go to the Inbox. Your number is along the left side of the screen.
  2. Or open Text settings, where it sits with your other text options.

Assign text numbers to users covers how that access works.

Can I change my text number's area code?

Yes. Ask support, and we'll assign you a new number in the area code you want. When you sign up, we try to assign you an area code that matches the phone number you provided. We can get you a different one, as long as the carriers have that area code in stock.

Email support@text-em-all.com or call 877-226-3080. We're open Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM Central.

How fast it happens depends on your registration. If you're already registered, we can usually do it the same day. If you're still registering, or you haven't started, you'll have to wait. The new number won't work until your registration is done.

Can I text-enable my own number?

You can text-enable a number you already own by filling out a Letter of Authorization. The form gives us permission to add texting to a number that only takes calls today. It takes ~7-9 business days for the carriers to complete this process.

Not every number qualifies. It's worth checking before you fill anything out:

Number type Can we text-enable it?
Landline Yes
VoIP Sometimes, depending on the provider
Google Voice No
Microsoft Teams No

Start carrier registration while you wait. They're two separate things, and you can't text until both are finished. Doing them at the same time saves you from waiting twice.

How do I request an additional text number?

Tell support what you're trying to send, and we'll set up another number for you. We'll talk it through first, to be sure a second number is what you actually need.

Email support@text-em-all.com or call 877-226-3080. We're open Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM Central.

If you're already registered, we can usually set the new number up the same day. If you're still waiting on registration, the new number has to wait too.

Who do I contact about my own account?

We can't put your own account details in a help article, so call or email us instead. Which numbers you have, or whether your own landline qualifies, requires someone to look at your account.

Email support@text-em-all.com or call 877-226-3080, Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM Central.
