Why 2FA is a login requirement
To protect your account—and the people you're messaging—Text-Em-All requires email-based two-factor authentication (2FA) on every login. After entering your password, you'll need a one-time code sent to your account email.
This layer of protection ensures that even if someone guesses your password, they can’t access your account without the passcode. We understand extra steps can feel inconvenient, but this requirement is one of the ways we keep communication secure and your organization safe.
Why is 2FA required?
- Your Text-Em-All account holds valuable information—contacts, message history, billing details.
- If your account is compromised, bad actors can send unwanted messages. This puts your registration and account at risk.
- Passwords alone can be compromised. Requiring two factors (something you know and something you have—your email) helps prevent unauthorized access.
- Mandatory 2FA reflects our commitment to responsible and secure communication.
Updating your email for 2FA
Ensure your account's email is current and accessible:
- Go to your Settings > Profile
- Under Contact Info click Edit
- Enter the email you want to use for receiving 2FA codes
- Click Save
When will I be asked for 2FA?
You won’t have to enter a 2FA code every single time you log in. Here’s how it works:
- First login on a new device or browser: You’ll be asked to enter a 2FA code.
- Trusted devices: Once you complete 2FA, that device is remembered for about 30 days. If you log out and back in during that time, you won’t need to enter a code again.
- Active users: If you’re regularly using your account on the same device, you may go a long time without seeing a 2FA prompt, because your session stays active.
In short: Most users will only see the 2FA screen occasionally—usually when logging in on a new device, after 30 days, or if you haven’t been active for a while.
How to Log In with 2FA
- Visit the Text-Em-All login page
- Enter your username and password, then click Log In
- Open your email inbox and find the six-digit passcode we sent
- Back on the login page, type the passcode into the prompt
- Click Log In to access your account
Important: Never share your password or 2FA code. Text-Em-All staff will never ask for these.
