How to Create a Sequence

Creating a Sequence consists of four steps:

Step 1: Go to Create Sequence

  1. Click the Create button at the top of the homepage.
  2. Select "Sequence (Beta)"

Step 2: Enroll Recipients

  1. Decide who you want to receive this message. You have three options:
    1. Add from Contacts - will add numbers that are saved from your CONTACTS section
    2. Upload a File - allows you to upload a file
    3. Add Individually - provides a form to enter numbers in manually
  2. Click Continue

Step 3: Create Sequence

  1. In the left drawer, give your Sequence a name.
    1. Sequence names are for your internal organization and do not display to contacts.
    2. Once your Sequence is created, each broadcast that is created will include the Sequence name.
      1. For example, if you create a Sequence called "Party Reminders," the first text broadcast in the Sequence will be called "Party Reminders - Text Message 1" automatically.
  2. In the left drawer, select the Text Number you wish to use if you have more than one.
  3. In the middle section of the page, choose when the Sequence should start. This start time is when the first message in your Sequence will be sent.
    1. Select Immediately if you wish for the first message to go out as soon as you complete setup.
    2. Select Schedule for the future if you wish to select a date and time for the first message to go out.
  4. Next, type what you want your first text message to say in the section called "Text Message 1."
  5. To add more steps to your Sequence, click the "+" button.
    1. Text Message: Add another text message into your Sequence.
    2. Wait: Tell the Sequence to wait until a specific date and time.
  6. When finished, click Create Sequence.

Step 4: Review & Submit

  1. Review the information presented to make sure your Sequence settings are correct.
  2. Click Schedule Sequence.
  3. You'll be returned to your Text-Em-All homepage where each text message you created in the Sequence created its own Broadcast that you can track and manage.
