How to create a Text to Speech Voice Message
You can create a voice message where an automated voice reads a message that you write. This article walks you through how to create a Text to Speech voice message.
Tips for Text to Speech
- Use proper punctuation. This helps the computer sound more natural when reading your message.
- Always begin your message by clearly identifying yourself. Contacts may not listen to an automated message very long if they aren't sure who is sending it.
- Matthew reads messages the fastest. Other voices read a bit slower. Listen to different audio to see which option sound the best for you.
Create a Text to Speech Voice Message in the Message Library
You can create a text-to-speech voice message in your message library for later use. Follow these steps to create the message.
- Navigate to the Audio Library in your account.
- Click the button that says, CREATE A MESSAGE.
- Select Text to Speech from the menu.
- Type out your message. The message must be a minimum of 10 seconds and no more than 2 minutes once the audio is generated. You may have to adjust how many words are in your message to meet these requirements.
- Select the voice you wish to use to read the message. There are two traditionally male and two female voices.
- Click NEXT when finished.
- You can listen to your audio by clicking the play button at the top of the dialog. To make changes click the BACK button.
- Give your audio a name. (You can also give it a description, Mark as Starred to save the message from archiving after 3 months, or Mark as Shared to share with other users on your account). Click SAVE when finished.
Create a Text to Speech Message in Create Broadcast
You can also create a Text to Speech message when you create a voice broadcast on the Create Broadcast screen using the following steps:
- Navigate to the Create Broadcast page.
- Go through the normal steps of creating a voice broadcast.
- On step 3 you can choose the option for text-to-speech.
- Type out your message. The message must be a minimum of 10 seconds and no more than 2 minutes once the audio is generated. You may have to adjust how many words are in your message to meet these requirements.
- Select the voice you wish to use to read the message. There are two traditionally male and two female voices.
- Click NEXT when finished.
- You can listen to your audio by clicking the play button at the top of the dialog. To make changes click the BACK button.
