Carrier Fees for Local Text Numbers

Along with registration requirements and throughput limits for users of local texting, mobile carriers are also adding significant fees to local number texting. This article covers those carrier fees and how they impact you.

NOTE: Text-Em-All is currently waiving all carrier fees outlined in this article. 

Fee Overview

There are three types of carrier fees for local numbers: registration fees, monthly maintenance fees, and per-message fees. Both types of fees are charged by the carriers for local numbers. Text-Em-All is currently waiving these fees for our customers. 

Registration fees are incurred when you register your local number by applying for higher limits. 

Per-message fees are applied every time a message is sent. 

Registration fees

Registration fees are paid to the Campaign Registry(TCR), T-Mobile, and 3rd party vetting companies responsible for verifying your information to TCR. The Standard local number option is available for all accounts and currently has no associated registration frees. 

Standard local numbers registration fee: $0

Registered local number registration fee: $4 ($4 TCR fee)

Vetted local number registration fee: $44 ($4 TCR fee, $40 3rd party vetting fee)

Monthly fees

The Campaign Registry(TCR) imposes monthly maintenance fees on companies that register their local numbers. These fees are assessed based on the use case selected during registration. 

Per-Message Fees

The carriers impose a per message fee on all text messages sent via local numbers.

AT&T Fees

These fees are assessed per text message (one message is equal to one 160-character text)

T-Mobile Fees

These fees are assessed per text message (one message is equal to one 160-character text)

Verizon Fees

These fees are assessed per text message (one message is equal to one 160-character text)

These fees are assessed per text message (one message is equal to one 160-character text)

• .01 per MMS
