Toll-Free Number Registration

Please note that the toll-free registration is currently experiencing a higher than normal volume of registration requests. As such, you may experience a delay in registration. Text-Em-All is working with our partners to process requests as quickly as possible. If you wish to register your toll-free number it is important to act

Big changes are coming to toll-free texting. But don't worry, we're here to give you all the information you need.

What's happening?

Starting September 30, 2022, all toll-free numbers must register with the carriers (AT&T, Verizon, TMobile, etc) to keep sending text messages. We recommend you begin this process by August 31, 2022, to ensure no disruption in service. This effort to fight spam messages is an industry-wide initiative that is being imposed upon all automated messaging organizations. The registration process will help establish legitimacy for your organization and the messages that are being sent.

Why is this happening?

Text message spam remains a huge problem with billions of unwanted messages being sent every week. In a major effort to crack down on this SPAM, the carriers (AT&T, Verizon, TMobile, etc) are mandating new requirements for all text senders. While these restrictions aren't being imposed by Text-Em-All we are supportive of the efforts to help reduce spam messages because it aligns with what we believe

Our hope is to help to make this process as seamless as possible.

What are the benefits?

Verifying your TFNs reduces the chance of:
  • Your number being wrongly blocked for spam or fraud.
  • Your messages being filtered out for containing high-risk keywords.
It also means you'll get to keep sending messages from your existing TFNs at no extra charge.

How long will it take to get registered?

Currently, the review and approval process to register your organization can range from a couple of weeks to a couple of months

Is there an alternative to toll-free registration?

For most users, local number texting is a preferable option. With local number texting, you may send texts using a local phone number with an area code of your choosing. Read more about local number texting.

Does it cost anything to verify my TFN?

Verifying your TFN(s) is completely free.

What do I need to know?

  • Toll-free number messaging is when text messages come from a designated 800 number.
  • This option is reserved for our higher volume, complex users.
  • The process of registration will require detailed information about your organization and how your recipients give you permission to text them. The carriers are very specific about how organizations obtain consent.
  • The turnaround time for the review and approval process to register your organization can range from a couple of weeks to a couple of months
