Basic Troubleshooting for the Text-Em-All App

This article explains some common fixes for issues that may arise when using the Text-Em-All app.

Close the app and open it 

In general, this is a good first step. Restarting the application can help a multitude of problems. Be sure to completely close the app, not minimize it.

To close your app on Android, follow these instructions:

1. While on the Home screen or in an app, tap the multitasking button on your device to open a list of open apps. (Some devices may have a different way to access their list of open apps)
2. The screen will display all of the open apps. Swipe left and right through the different app cards to find the Text-Em-All app.
3. Find the Text-Em-All app and swipe up to force close the app. 
4. Locate the app again on your phone and log back in with your Text-Em-All username and password. 

To close your app on iPhone, follow these instructions:

1. While on the Home screen or in an app, swipe up from the bottom of the screen and pause while still pressing the screen. (Some devices may have a physical Home button to double press)
2. The screen will display all of the open apps. Swipe left and right through the different app cards to find the app that you want to close.
3. Use a quick swipe up to force close the app.
4. Locate the app again on your phone and log back in with your Text-Em-All username and password. 

Log out and log in

If closing the app didn't help you can try logging out and then logging back in. 

To log out on Android or iPhone, follow these instructions:

1. Tap the menu icon  on the top left to bring up the navigation drawer.
2. Tap the gear icon 
3. Tap Sign Out 
4. After you are signed out, log back in with your Text-Em-All username and password. 

Get the latest version

If the above steps didn't help then maybe you need to update to the latest version of the app.

To check if you have the latest version of the Text-Em-All app, follow these instructions:

1. Go to the Apple App Store or Google Play Store to download the latest version of our app. 
2. Tap the button that says Update on the Text-Em-All app

Uninstall and reinstall the app

Still not working? Desperate times call for desperate measures. Let's uninstall and reinstall the app to have a fresh go. 

To uninstall on Android, follow these instructions:

1. Hold your finger on the app icon to bring up a menu. 
2. Tap Uninstall. 
3. If this does not work follow these directions from Google. 

To uninstall on iPhone, follow these instructions:

1. Hold your finger on the app icon until an X appears. 
2. Tap the X and tap Delete
